An iconic photo of Dick Kraft grinning in “The Bug”. A ’27 Model T flathead stripped down to the bare frame rails in 1950 that became the “daddy” of modern dragsters.
Dick was one of the original California beach boys, splitting his time between the dry lakes, Santa Drag Strip and Newport Beach. As a health nut, Dick worked out regularly and could press 300 pounds with his 16 inch arms. He went to the beach to street race and when things got a little slow to street fight.
